HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS LOANS BOARD (HELSLB) JOB OPPORTUNITIES

The higher Education Students Loans Board was established under Act. No.9 of 2004 (as mended) and started operations in July, 2005. The main functions of the Board include the following:-

(i) To issue loans to eligible and needy Higher Education Students
(ii) To keep record of loaness and amounts disbursed to them
(iii) To collect repayments for all loans issued to students since 1994 so as to re-lend the funds to other needy Tanzanian students
(iv) To maintain collaborations and network with key stakeholders including higher education institutions, employers and loan beneficiaries
(v) To advise the Government on matters relating to issuance and recovery of loans

The Board has, since commencement of its operations, been strengthening its work force and services to suit the demands of its responsibilities.

The Board now invites Applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the following Management Positions which fell vacant recently.

1. DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION (DFA) - 1 POST (HESLB SCALE 13)
REPORTS TO : TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


QUALIFICATIONS
- Holder of Masters Degree in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters Degree in Finance/ Human Resource Management. CPA (T) will be an added advantage, given the nature of the job.
- A working experience of at least eight (8) years in Management in a reputable organization in the area of Accounting and Finance or in the area of Human Resource Management and Administration
- Should be literate, conversant with all applications relevant to the job

2. DIRECTOR OF LOANS ALLOCATION AND DISBURSEMENT (DLAD) - 1 POST (HESLB SCALE 13)
REPORTING TO : TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


QUALIFICATIONS
- A Holder Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Commerce, Economics or Education
- At least eight (8) years work experience in a reputable organization in Management position preferably in Loans Management and Recovery
- Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Swahili
- Must be computer literate, conversant with all applications relevant to the job

3. CHIEF INTERNAL AUDIT (CIA) - 1 POST
(HELSB SCALE 12.0)
REPORTING TO : FUNCTIONALLY TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND ADMINISTRATIVELY TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR INITIALLY BUT LATER ON TO THE
DIRECTOR OF INTERNAL AUDIT AND INVESTIGATION


QUALIFICATIONS
- Holder of Masters Degree in Accountancy/ Finance and Holder of CPA (T) or ACCA
- At least six (6) years work experience at a Management position in a reputable organization in the area of auditing or accountancy
- Must be computer literate, conversant with all applications relevant to the job including CAATS
- Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Swahili
