Senior/Junior Administrative and Technical Staff

Applications for employment are invited from citizens of Tanzania to fill the following vacant positions at NM-AIST.

S/N	POSITIONS	VACANCIES	QUALIFICATIONS	RESPONSIBILITIES
1	Senior/Principal Legal Officer-Cum-Secretary to Council	1	Holder of Master's degree preferably in Law or Management and Administration or member of Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administration with relevant administrative experience of not less than seven years.	(i) Providing statutory service for the Council in accordance with the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology in Arusha (NM-AIST) regulations and other legal requirements. (ii) Providing legal advice and representing the institute in all legal matters.
2	Senior Accountant	1	Holder of a Degree in Accountancy with CPA/ACCA/ACA/CMA, and not less than five years of relevant working experience in a similar position in a reputable organization.	(i) Prepares periodical and / or annual financial statements of revenue and expenditures (ii) Authorizes payments (iii) Supervises staff in the respective section of subsection (iv) Assists in handling investments of institution funds (v) Performs any other duties and responsibilities assigned to him or her by Bursar.
3	Accountant	1	Holder of a Degree in Accountancy with CPA/ ACCA or it's equivalent and similar working experience of at least four years in accounting field	(i) Custodian of accountable documents. (ii) Prepares financial statements of revenue and expenditures (iii) Prepares monthly trial balance and bank reconciliation statements. (iv) Performs any other duties and responsibilities assigned to him or her by Bursar.
4	Senior IT Systems Administrator	1	Holder of Form VI Certificate with certificate in computer maintenance and repair, from the recognized institution plus experience of at least five years of full time work as assistant IT Systems Administrator.	(i) Analyzes hardware and software problems and finds solutions (ii) Manages storage media copies of software and documentations of computer systems (iii) Keeps records of systems inventories (iv) Resolves data capturing (v) Resolves various data inputs and outputs problems. (vi) Reviews production outputs for accuracy and validity. (vii) Operates and maintains programs and /or systems on server or personal computer systems either on standalone environment or as 4. 5	IT Systems Security Specialist	1	Holder of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and/or Information Technology or related computer studies, who has served in a similar position for at least three years.	(i) Ensures network and system security in terms of confidentiality, integrity and availability. (ii) Implements and manages various security mechanisms. (iii) Implements backup strategy. (iv) Supports and trains users on computer and network security issues. (v) Develops test procedures and performance assessment requirements, and recommends and implements corrective actions for performance improvement.
