AFRICAN BARRICK GOLD (ABG) JOB OPPORTUNITY

African Barrick Gold (ABG) is a leading gold mining, listed in the London Stock Exchange. It is the largest gold mining company in Tanzania with a portfolio of four operating gold mines, Bulyanhulu, North Mara, Tulawaka and the Buzwagi and several exploration and development projects, located across Tanzania.

PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (30 POSTS)
Reporting Line : Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location : Bulyanhulu Gold Mine, Kahama District, Shinyanga Region
Work Schedule : 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or equivalent qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical)
- Professional registration with Engineers Registration Board (ERB)
- Knowledge of budgets and labor
- Exposure to the challenges of operating remote sites and in particular developing countries
- Three years experience as a practicing Engineer with at least two years in hands on predictive maintenance technologies will be an added advantage
- A strong personal commitment to implement policies and procedures with the liability to foster strong safety culture among personnel
- Ability to mentor and work with people from a wide range of nationalities and cultures and the willingness to share skills and knowledge with others
- Excellent planning, organization skills with demonstrated ability  to manage multiple responsibilities and the self discipline to achieve tasks on time
- Able to train and pass knowledge
- Hard working and risk taker
- Produce high quality work with attention to details
- Able to work safety and not create or ignore hazards
- Demonstrate motivation to train Tanzania workforce

MINING TRAINEES (30 POSTS)
Reporting Line : Trainer and Assessor
Location : Bulyanhulu Gold Mine, Kahama District, Shinyanga Region
Work Schedule : 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off

QUALIFICATIONS
- National Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (Form IV) is must
- Possession of technical trade certificate is important but not a must
- Knowledge of mining standards, processes and procedures through learning
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a good command of Swahili/ English
- Proper knowledge of tools, equipment and material used in the production section
- Certificate of a Mining profession will be an added advantage
- Any previous experience on the mining operations is worth
- Experience in any vocational activities is also in an advantage
- The program is self-driven, performance and skills based through assessments and evaluations subject to Vienna Assessments
