PATH has recently secured funding to support work on the Cooperative Biological Engagement Program CBEP); Tanzania Task Order for the U.S Defense Threat Rduction Agency (DTRA). The key objectives of the Task Order are to assess the current disease surveillance, biological safety  and security, scientific
research capabilities, procedures and processes and respective Tanzania's regulatory frameworks and to design an enhanced disease surveillance system capable of near real time detection, diagnosis and reporting of especially dangerous pathogen outbreaks. We are therefore seeking qualified candidates for the following positions.

1. SENIOR PROGRAM OFFICER - TRACKING CODE 5324

PATH is looking for a senior public health expert specialized in infectious diseases and epidemiology to be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to support the multi-agency project team working on the above mentioned project. Under the direction of the Responsible Manager at PATH's headquarters and the Tanzania Country Program Leader, and guidance from international project advisors, the Sr. Program Officer will coordinate the work of the PATH project team in the country and will work with key national stakeholders and international partners.

2. PROGRAM OFFICER - TRACKING CODE 5333


PATH is looking for a senior public health expert specialized in infectious diseases and epidemiology to be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to support the multi-agency project team working on the above mentioned project. Under the direction of the Senior Program Officer and guidance from international project advisors,Program Officer will provide the needed technical
expertise to achieve the task order objectives.

- A minimum of 4-5 years experience in development, planning, programming and monitoring and implementation of technical cooperation programmes
- Experience with international donors, non-governmental development organizations and/ or UN system
- Excellent knowledge of English & Swahili; knowledge of another UN language desirable
- Demonstrate knowledge of development, political and financial issues linked to HIV
- Knowledge of the UN system organizations and their delivery mechanisms

ENGENDERHEALTH TANZANIA

TITLE : Senior Technical Advisor (STA), Service Delivery Management
PROGRAM OFFICE : Tanzania-EngenderHealth Husika (PSI Project)
REPORTS TO : Project Director/ Chief of Party PSI, with dotted line supervision

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree preferably in the fields of public health, social sciences, gender studies/ policy of other relevant fields.
  • 7 years of work experience in designing and implementing service delivery or KPGs projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with government stakeholders (National and local levels), civil society and human rights organizations, uniformed services, private sector partners and directly with members of at-risk communities in order to mobilize , enable and sustain a political and social environment conducive to protective HIV prevention, care and treatment interventions
  • experience in integrated approaches to health service delivery in the public sector and/ or with private sector networks; experience in community engagement for health is a plus
  • Proven experience in managing HIV/STI, gender equity, KPGs or reproductive health programs
  • Excellent knowledge in gender issues and gender based violence, particularly as they relate to HIV prevention, care and treatment policies.
  • Experience building capacity among a wide range of stakeholders to advocate for improved policies to increase access to HIV/AIDS services and reduce barriers, including issues of stigma, discrimination and social isolation KPGs.
  • Excellent knowledge of issues related to gender based violence, women's empowerment, male involvement, gender alignment and the promotion of gender equality as it relates to KPGs
  • Experience in presenting findings, results and lessons learned to a variety of audiences
  • Monitoring and evaluation skills to document successes in the HIV prevention, gender, policy and advocacy arena
  • Experience with donor funded programs (especially USAID) preferred
  • A personal and professional commitment to gender equality
  • Ability to apply qualitative and quantitative methodologies in monitoring and evaluation
  • Conceptual thinker, with excellent follow-through and organizational skills
  • Computer literate with proficiency in data handling programs or strong computer skills necessary for the information system, data analysis and reporting, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Additional fluency in Swahili is preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Medical Degree, nursing Degree or other relevant social science degree. Masters Degree in Public Health is an advantage. Certificate in training facilitation preferred.
  • Knowledge of public health, HIV prevention, Stigma and discrimination, GBV preferred
  • At least three (3+) years of experience in training related field with commendable experience in curriculum development, training manual preparation, training needs assessment, etc
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in organizing and facilitating trainings, clinical monitoring and providing mentorship on service delivery on key populations (as defined herein) and RH related topics for public private and NGO audiences
  • Experience with and understanding of MOHSW training system
  • Experience in capacity building for advocacy activities
  • Experience in documentation, presenting findings, results and lessons learned to a variety of audiences
  • Fluent in Swahili and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills

TITLE : Program Officer, Quality Assurance

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Medical Degree or other clinical degree and at least 3 years of clinical experience
  • Three years (3) clinical service delivery experience in RH service and/or quality improvement activities towards key populations. Experience in working with key populations is highly preferred
  • Quality clinical monitoring and training skills
  • Knowledge of public health, HIV prevention, stigma and descrimination and GBV
  • Experience in training and mentoring providers and in supervision of reproductive health/ sexual programs
  • Experience in documentation, presenting findings, results and lessons learned to a variety of audiences
  • Fluent in swahili and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Computer literate with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and use of e-mail
  • Ability to travel upcountry about 50% of the time

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
  • Certificate in pharmacy from recognized/ registered training institution
  • 2 years experiences in similar function in multinational environment

  • Maintain the confidentiality of clinic clients

PROCESS PLANT OPERATOR (2 POSTS)

Qualifications:
  • Holder of Form VI Secondary Education or FTC trade test grade one in mechanical or electrical disciplines; or Diploma in Mechanical/ mineral process
  • Good written and verbal English language skills
  • Previous experience in industrialized plant is beneficial
  • Result oriented

RECEPTIONIST (1 POST)

Reporting Line : Clinic Adminstrator

Qualifications:
  • A certificate in Medical records keeping from a reputable Medical Record Training Institution
  • A minimum of three years hospital experience
  • A wide range of experience as a receptionist and advanced filling system experience is a bonus
  • Excellent English and Swahili communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to to all levels of personnel
  • Competent in use of Microsoft word, excel and power point software
  • Accurate in record keeping with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
