  • Implements database, application and operating system service packs and patches to ensure that they are updated regularly for good performance.
  • Performs daily, regular and scheduled backups of the system database to ensure that the database is safeguarded against loss and that they are made in accordance with the established procedures.
  • Supports users in technical operational requests and other software and hardware problems to ensure that problems are rectified for smooth operation of the system.

Purpose of the position:

2. Personal Assistant
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for provision of office administration assistance to the Managing Director. Other duties and responsibilities will, not limit, to the followings;

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Board meeting logistics and compilation of Board Papers
  • Management of the diary of the Managing Director and setting meetings and other appointments as per schedule

3. Underwriting Manager

Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for provision of competitive market related quotations and document issuing services to the company’s customers, retention of customers and ensuring continued profitable growth of the Company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Financial Controller to ensure that payments by agencies and brokers are within statutory requirements.
  • Underwriting of the Company’ business portfolio within reinsurance arrangements
  • Develop growth of the company’s portfolio by ensuring good liaison with the agencies and brokers.
  • Authorize all claims payments within 12 hours of receiving files and
  • Provide the Assistant General Manager with monthly reports on premium growth by class and analysis of broker performance.
  • Negotiate treaty renewal terms in conjunction with the Claims Manager to be completed no later than 15th December each year
  • Ensure all business is properly rated and the risk premium is charged and benefits are included at the correct levels so as to ensure there is underwriting profit Assist the Assistant General Manager to ensure the company has strong risk management processes and procedures that safe-guard the interests of the company and its customers. Assist the Senior Management team in the development of appropriate strategies that promote the company’s operations, competitiveness and growth and ensure implementation of the same in areas of responsibility. Assist in marketing and sales efforts to ensure revenue targets are met and exceeded.


Education and Experience

TANZANIA SOCIAL ACTION FUND (TASAF)

The United Republic of Tanzania has acquired financing towards the cost of the Tanzania of the Tanzania Third Social Action Fund –Productive Social Safety Net (TASAF III PSN). The Program is jointly financed by the World Bank, the Department For International Development (DFID), United States Agency for International Development(USAID) and the Kingdom of Spain. It is a 10- year program, implemented in two phases of five years, each. The Government plans to roll out a nationwide safety net with a view to reducing poverty and improving the lives of the poor. The objective of TASAF III is “to enable poor households to increase incomes and opportunitisoes while improving consumption”. TASAF III targets people living under the basic needs poverty line (currently 33.6% of the population).
The first phase of the TASAF III PSSN which will be implemented in five years starting this financial year 2012/13, consists of the following parts:-
Part 1 : On Consolidation of Integrated Social Safety Net Interventions for extremely poor and Food Insecure Households and;
Part 2: On Institutional Strengthening. The development objective is to create a comprehensive, and vulnerable Section of the Tanzania Population.

TASAF is now looking for competent and committed candidates who meets the minimum qualification stated below to fill the under-mentioned vacant positions.

1. DIRECTOR OF KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND ADVOCACY (1 POST)

Qualifications:

  • Holder of Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Mass Communication, Social Science or any other development related field from recognized university
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in relevant field in Public and /or private sectors of which seven (7) years must be at senior managerial position.
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of and experience with donor funded project.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels
  • Ability to supervise, train and coach staff in relevant skills
  • Self-motivated with integrity and high level of confidentiality

2.DIRECTOR OF COORDINATION (1 POST)

Qualifications:
  • Holder of Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource, Engineering, Sociology or any other development related field from recognized university.
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in relevant field in Public and /or private Sectors of which seven (7) years must be at senior managerial position
  • Must have a working knowledge of computerized systems
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of and experience with donor funded project

3.DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT (1 POST)

Qualifications:
  • Holder of Master’s Degree in Social Science, Business Civil Engineering or any other development related field from a recognized university
  • A recognized professional qualification where applicable
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in relevant field in Public and/ or private Sectors of which seven (7) years must be at senior managerial position.
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of and experience with donor funded project
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels
  • Ability to supervise, train and coach staff in relevant skills
  • Self-motivated with integrity and high level of confidentiality
  • Experience with community based development initiative and social fund related operations are an added advantage

4.DISBURSEMENTS MANAGER (1 POST)

Qualifications:-
  • Holder of Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting and Finance Business Administration or any other related field from recognized university
  • Must possess internationally recognized accounting professional qualification such as CPA (T), ACCA, CIMA, CISA or other related profession
  • Must be registered with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) in the category of Associate Certified Public Accountant (ACPA) or Fellow Certified Public Accountant (FCPA)
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in relevant field in Public and/ or Private Sectors of which five (5) years must be at managerial position
  • Must have a working knowledge of computerized Accounting and Audit system
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of and experience with donor funded project

5.COORDINATION MANAGER (1 POST)

Qualifications:
  • Holder of Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering or any other related field from a recognized university
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in relevant field in public and/ or Private Sectors of which five (5) years must be at managerial position
  • Must be computer literate

  • Should be knowledgeable of various cash transfers operations
  • Experience in the management of social/ community development projects
  • Must be computer literate

7.PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAM MANAGER (1 POST)

Qualifications:
  • A Master Degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Land use Planning, Forestry or any other related from a recognized university
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in relevant field in Public and/ or Private Sectors and at least five years (5) managerial experience
  • A recognized professional qualification where applicable

  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in relevant field in Public and/ or Private Sectors and at least five years (5) managerial experience
  • Should be knowledgeable in development and and revision of community savings and investment strategies and micro enterprises capacity building activities.
  • Experience in the management of social/ community development projects

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform general nursing care of patients;
- Perform maternal and child care services;

- Provide Health education on family planning, nutrition, vaccination, sanitation and child spacing;
- Monitor pregnancy development;
- Sensitizing the community on maternal and child health;
- Analyzing the health statistics report and its impact (meaning) to the Institute; and

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE- Holder of form IV Certificate who has attended Nursing and Midwifery Course from recognized institution and attained Grade A Nursing Certificate from a recognized Institution registered by Nurses and Midwives Council.
