The Programme is solely financed by EU in line with the EU Country Multi-Indicative Programme for 2008-13 which concentrates for pro-poor trade crops, cotton being among the five selected.
The Objective of TASP II is to increase agricultural production, development and trade in view of economic development and reduction of rural poverty in Tanzania, especially the project aims at increasing smallholder farmer's income through better access to markets (national, regional and international markets) by support to capacity development for better compliance with market demand in terms of quality and standards and strengthening of the value chain linking the smallholder farmers to the markets in view of increased productivity, competitiveness and income.
It is four year programme to be implementes in phases. The Government through its implementing Agent Tanzania Cotton Board (TCB) plans to utilize the funds to undertake the project in this financial year (2012/2013) and so part of the funds will be used to acquire competent staff to run the project undertaking.
TCB is now looking for competent and committed candidates who meets the minimum qualifications stated below to fill the under mentioned vacant positions.
PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY OFFICER (1 POST)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Material Management, Supplies, Procurement, Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized Procurement and Supplies University/ Institution and registered by a recognized Procurement and Supplies Professional Board plus CSP or equivalent professional qualification
- The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and good communication skills (orally and in writing)
- A minimum of five (5) years work experience within the purchasing field in donor funded projects
ACCOUNTANT (1 POST)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Accounting/ Finance or Commerce from recognized University/ Institution with CPA (T), CCA and any other recognized professional qualifications
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures; skills in performing detailed numerical computation; skills in preparing detailed reports on timely basis; skills in both verbal and written communication; and skills in the use of computer hardware and software (Accounting Software)
- At least five (5) years of working experience in accounting field with donor funded projects. Demonstrated results in Project finance is distinct advantage
DRIVER (1 POST)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Holder of Secondary Education with valid driving license (Class "C"), of not less than three years wuthout causing accident and should possess Trade Test Grade II/Drivers Grade II Certificate from a recognized Training Institution
- Understand the road traffic rules and regulations, being professional and trustworthy; skills iin time management, communication and listening; self motivated and focused; ability to read and write English language
- At least five (5) years of working experience with donor funded projects
